What is a N trap?

N trap or floor trap is a type of device that receives wastewater from kitchen floors, showers, bathtubs and bathrooms and passes it on to the drainage pipelines. Its primary functions are the drainage of wastewater and preventing foul gases from entering the living areas through the drains. These are typically made of UPVC or cast iron and have a detachable top grate for cleaning purposes.

• N trap is typically lightweight, easy to install and hassle-free to maintain.
• The surface of the N trap has to be smooth and without any grooves, ensuring quick and steady water drainage.
• It needs to have a water seal of at least 10 mm for best results.

• Usually, it has a removable PVC or steel jali on the top that collects any unwanted material that might clog the drains.
